Almost every eSIM problem is one of five settings. Start at the top — they are ordered by how often each one turns out to be the answer.

No data? Check these in order

1

Point mobile data at the AloAlo line

The most common cause by a distance. The eSIM installed correctly and the phone is still using your home line.

iPhone
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select the AloAlo line
Android
Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Mobile data → select the AloAlo line
2

Turn data roaming ON for the AloAlo line

Counter-intuitive, but required. A travel eSIM connects through partner networks, which your phone treats as roaming. With roaming off it will never connect.

iPhone
Settings → Cellular → tap the AloAlo line → Data Roaming on
Android
Open the AloAlo line’s settings → Roaming on
3

Turn data roaming OFF on your home line

This is the setting that stops the bill. Leave the line itself switched on so calls and texts still arrive — just stop it using data.

iPhone
Settings → Cellular → tap your home line → Data Roaming off
Android
Open your home line’s settings → Roaming off
4

Toggle airplane mode

Forces a fresh network scan. On for ten seconds, then off, then give it a minute to register. Registration abroad is slower than at home.

iPhone
Control Centre → airplane icon
Android
Quick settings → airplane icon
5

Choose a network manually

If the phone will not pick an operator on its own, pick one yourself. Scanning takes up to a minute; if the first choice fails, try the next.

iPhone
Settings → Cellular → AloAlo line → Network Selection → Automatic off → choose
Android
Mobile network settings → Select automatically off → choose

Do not delete the eSIM. Most profiles can only be installed once, so deleting one usually destroys a plan you have paid for. Work through everything above and talk to us before removing anything.
